From The Maker

Handcrafted in Vâlcea County, Romania, this platter is made by artisans who have practised Horezu pottery since childhood. Working from their home atelier, each piece is shaped on a traditional kick wheel and carefully handpainted.

Using natural pigments made from local minerals and clays, the decoration is applied using a traditional technique known as “jirăvirea”, with tools such as cow horns and fine wooden sticks. Each piece carries generations of knowledge, care and Romanian cultural heritage.
