The Burning Bright Midwinter Candle

A woody, herbal candle created to be burnt on the Winter Solstice, marking the longest night of the year and the gradual return of the light. Poured into a handmade ceramic pinch pot, this 100% natural soy wax candle combines black spruce, juniper, sage, rosemary and frankincense to create an earthy, aromatic scent.

The Scent & Mood

Inspired by the ancient pagan tradition of Yule, Midwinter celebrates the turning of the seasons and the survival of life through the long, dark winter. In folklore, the Holly King surrenders to the Oak King as the days begin to lengthen, while the Yule log, traditionally adorned with holly and pinecones, is burned as a symbol of renewal and protection.

Black spruce and juniper bring a fresh, woody aroma, while sage, rosemary and frankincense add an earthy herbal depth. Traditionally associated with purification and protection, sage is thought to help clear negative energy and create a sense of calm as you welcome the new year.

Topped with sage, juniper and a pinecone, this is a lovely candle to burn as part of a Winter Solstice ritual or simply to bring a little warmth and atmosphere to the darker months.

Burning Bright candles are made with 100% natural ingredients, using eco-friendly soy wax and pure essential oils. Free from parabens, cruelty-free and fully vegan, each candle is handcrafted from start to finish in Swallowfield, Berkshire, with a focus on aromatherapy, sustainability and plant-based ingredients.

Candle Care

Remove all toppings before lighting. For the best burn, allow your candle to burn for around an hour the first time to ensure an even melt. Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each use.
