Product details

Sharlala Hand-Painted Ceramic Bird Whistle.

A small object with a surprisingly joyful voice.

Fill with water and blow gently to create the soft, lilting sound of birdsong, a delicate, nostalgic tone that feels both playful and calming. By covering the small hole on the bird’s head, you can shift the pitch and experiment with rhythm, creating your own little melody.

Lightweight and full of character, each piece brings a sense of charm and curiosity to shelves, tables or garden gatherings. A simple pleasure, loved by both children and adults alike.

Not in the mood for whistling? These sweet ceramic birds double beautifully as miniature bud vases, perfect for a single stem or a sprig of wild greenery.

What We Love

It’s the kind of object that instantly shifts the mood, playful, tactile and a little unexpected. We love pieces that invite interaction, and this one always makes people smile.

Care & Condition

Each piece is handmade, meaning no two are ever identical. Variations in pattern, colour and finish are part of its charm and individuality.

To keep your ceramic bird looking its best and colours vibrant over time, we recommend gentle hand washing.

From the Maker

Founded by textile designer Alice Munteanu, CASA DE FOLKLORE brings together a carefully curated collection of artisanal pieces, each with a strong identity and a place within the home.

Born and raised in Romania, Alice moved to the UK at eleven and has spent her life staying closely connected to her heritage. From her grandmother’s handwoven rugs to the clay and wooden objects she grew up with, these pieces have always been part of her world — holding memory, culture and a sense of belonging.

CASA DE FOLKLORE was created to protect and celebrate traditional craftsmanship, working directly with artisans to keep these skills alive for future generations. Every piece is sourced straight from the maker’s workshop, chosen not only for its beauty but for the care, time and story behind it.

No two pieces are ever identical, each one reflects its journey from raw, natural materials through skilled hands, into your home.
