A banana on top of the Christmas tree? Absolutely. This playful alternative to a traditional star or angel is roughly the size of a real banana. It works well on a large tree or makes a cheerful statement on a medium-sized one.

“I appreciate that a banana may not be a usual choice to top a Christmas tree, but the urge to try it was irresistible. And let's be honest, Christmas can be a bit bananas at times.”

Each banana is handmade and measures approximately 20 × 15 × 1cm, or 25cm in total including the fixing coil. The standard 1cm-diameter coil fits most real trees and narrower artificial trees.

To attach, gently twist the wire coil around the leader branch, as though plaiting the two together.

The cotton string is hand-dyed, so colours may vary slightly between batches and from the photographs. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause fading. The maker states that all materials can be reused, composted or widely recycled.
