Good Business: Angela of I Am Nut Ok (2 min Read)

Uprising - I AM NUT OK

What's your life motto?

I don’t really have one motto set in stone - it really depends on circumstances, but based on my history… “Play by your own rules.” and “Go with the flow.”

What have you learnt so far?

Having a small business means I’m constantly learning new things. Every mistake is a learning experience, so… I’ve learned a lot.

Where is your favourite place?

At home, and home is where the heart is. It’s a corny quote that was stitched on a very grandma-looking pillow in the house I grew up in, but it’s true. I’ve moved a lot and it’s funny that this pillow I used to laugh at as a kid now resonates with me so much.

Name your three favourite words?

I’m going to tell you now that I don’t have a favourite anything. Is that weird? I feel like I must have skipped a day at school where everyone decided on their favourite things and wrote it all down on a list to reference for these specific questions.

What is your favourite food?

There’s two types of people: People that eat to live, and people that live to eat. I live to eat, so choosing a favourite is impossible. If I was forced to, maybe something in the noodle category.

What can you not live without?

Creativity.

What was the last thing you bought?

For myself? An air filter. In terms of shopping, I made a conscious effort about 2 years ago to stop buying new clothes, and it made me start to appreciate all the stuff I had already.

What advice would you give to the younger generation?

Tear down the capitalist system. If you can’t do that, make sure you understand how it works.

Proudest moment?

Probably my first sale as I AM NUT OK.

What’s next?

Who knows? It’s hard to make any plans during these times as the future is so unpredictable, so we’re just “going with the flow”.
